Directions
Just LOOK FOR THE SIGNS!
Kidding... :)
If you are arriving from Changi Airport - check out our Beary special video on how to get to Beary Best!
(well even if you are arriving from the bus terminal, you will find some of the later parts of the video useful)

MRT/Subway/Train
SGD 1.85 - SGD 2.50
Taking the MRT (aka Train/Subway/Metro) is the most affordable and environmentally friendly option to get to Chinatown!
It may look a little complicated, but it really isn’t! It's a great way to go local...
and besides, all transfers are indoors and with very little waiting time required!
However, as with all major cities... if you are commuting during peak hours i.e. 8.30am – 9.30am or 6.00pm – 7.30pm,
be ready to expect the usual sardine packed trains.
-
Board the MRT from Changi Airport station to Expo Station (1 stop later, ~5 min)
-
Walk to the Downtown Line connection and board the train towards Chinatown Station. Alight at Chinatown MRT station (16 stops later, ~30 min)
-
Head towards Exit F (Hong Lim Complex). Take the escalator/lift up to the street level.
-
Look across the road and you will immediately spot Beary Best! with our colourful windows and blue Beary sign.
Alternatives

Taxi
SGD 20 - SGD 30
If you are carrying large suitcases, a taxi might be the best option. More so if you are travelling in a group of 3-4 person – of which in the end will just cost each of you a little over SGD 6-7 per person.
-
Walk towards the taxi stands available at every terminal.
-
Remind the attend that you want a "Regular Taxi" if you are on a budget. Premium taxis costs at least SGD 5.00 more.
-
Tell the driver: "Beary Best! Hostel along 16, Upper Cross Street, Chinatown, 058331" and "Opposite Hong Lim Complex".

Shuttle
SGD 9 per person
Consider taking the shuttle if you are on a solo visit with large and heavy suitcases or if you are arriving past 11.30pm and there is no MRT in operation anymore.
-
Approach the Ground Transport Desks at the Arrival halls
-
Quote "A Beary Best! Hostel along 16, Upper Cross Street, Chinatown" (don't ask why they insist on calling us "A Beary Best"...)
-
Wait to be advised on the next departure time. (up to 30 minutes wait for non peak hours)
-
It takes about 25 minutes to get to the city area, afterwhich it depends on who they decide to drop off first.
